It’s Coming…Currently

School is starting in a few weeks.

school starts

It’s really not that bad, you see I know that we all go through the period of being so happy that school is over due to exam stress but two weeks in we are officially bored.

school startmeme-b2s-collegecyclefaces

Then once school starts, you are all excited to see all your friends again and then one week in you’re waiting for Christmas Break again.

In light of this, I thought it would be a good time to give an update on life in one of these currently posts. So, I hope you enjoy and please, comment below and let me know what’s going on with you! I miss chattering more with you guys as my comment section has been quite silent over the summmaa months. I totally get that it’s summer and you all are crazy busy with jobs and just trying to still have a life, but I miss you my friends. ❤

Anyways, onto the update.

Totally snagged this from Amanda cuz it’s cute. Hope you don’t mind 😉

Current book Youtube watch: Cuz you all know I don’t read…I have recently been following Mr. Nick Tong Strong more closely for his knowledge and expertise in bodybuilding and nutrition. He’s the prep coach of two ladies I follow on YouTube, Emily Duncan and Taylor Chamberlain, and I have just been spending some time getting caught up on his talks. Interesting stuff.

Current music: A few goodies off of the new album for Suicide Squad. Haven’t seen the movie itself, but I really liked some of the music!

suicide squad

~Purple Lamborghini -Skrillex and Rick Ross

~Sucker For Pain-  Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa & Imagine Dragons w/ Logic & Ty Dolla $ign ft X Ambassadors

~Heathens – Twenty One Pilots

Love these 3 for the gym.

Current [non]-guilty pleasure: Foam Rolling! I have been rolling every morning without fail and I found out the hard way that my legs and hips are not the only things that need some more roller love…

Despite being painful sometimes, it’s actually relaxing and its something I’m trying to do for my body to perform at it’s best. I’m falling more and more into “what would an athlete do for their kingdom” type of mindset and if you break your body down day after day, it needs some self care too for it to keep doing what it does for you.

Current drink: Can I say ACV shots? These have really been helping my tummy lately (although it’s still being stupid regardless). Shoot those things back before you eat and it helps to digest your food!

So many benefits! I got my Mom doing it every morning (the she started a night shot on her own!) despite her hating it. The face she makes is awesome 😀

Just make sure you get a natural one with the mother. Take a tablespoon or so and water it down and take your shot!

Current food: Creature of habit, I don’t tend to change that much as I love every thing  that I eat, but kabocha, now that I found a nice dry one, is a serious love recently.

…not that it really left, I mean all other foodies know the feels when it comes to this golden treasure..

kabocha love

Current obsession: 90210. Yeah summer is a snooze feast for shows so I started re-watching 90210 and …I’m hooked again.

Current craving: I think it’s the heat but I have seriously been craving a slushy for some strange reason. I tend to put my BCAA’s in my bottle and then right in the freezer for like 2 hours to sip on during my gym sessions. When you take it out and shake it, it’s like a Blue Raspberry slushy and I just find myself wanting more after I finish that one. Haven’t caved yet to get the real sugary thing (my stomach would probably hate me for it) but I need to give in at least once during the last few weeks to ice cream or something. Brave face on and accept the crappy feeling for a few days. It’s been far too long.

protein ice cream

Check out Elle’s Recipe HERE

Something similar catching my eye constantly (and always fuelling an inner struggle) is those smoothie bowls/protein ice cream bowls on IG. I want one so bad but I’m afraid because of a few reasons. My body hates digesting large amounts of liquids at one time. You will never see me eating soup, slurping down a smoothie or having a protein shake for that reason. Too much liquid makes me nauseous. Secondly, the thickeners (xanthum gum) that really give it the right texture will probably leave me on the floor.

Can I please incinerate my IBS ridden stomach and get a new one? -_-

Current need: I don’t need it but I kinda did. This is the Back At It Again Tank.

On zee card…Opps. I blame the “What’s New” Lululemon emails they taunt me with..

Current indulgence: Being done work 😉 not that my work was breaking my back or anything..

Current bane of my existence: The humidity. I love the heat and will never ever complain that it’s too hot, but the muggy, buggy and gross “I go outside and feel instantly wet and my hair turns into an afro” feeling, not so much.

Current procrastination: Looking into Masters/Internship programs. I want to do it because I want to be ready, but despite having the time to do it, I just tend to sloth when I actually sit down for the day. Oops.

Current confession: I hate to be that girl…but I’m kind of looking forward to the new school rush at the gym to see if anyone interesting shows up. No no, no early 20’s sillys, I’m done with the early 20’s. Can someone mature and have a goal in life…oh and lifts…walk up to me and be my swolemate yet?

Current quote: Just something to think about

Re-Posted from here

When you do something, are they truly for you? Are they something to make you happy. Are they something that makes you excited?

..Or are they something that some force has told you is what you should want or how you should behave?

Current excitement: Working with my new client! I met up with her today for nutrition consulting and both of us are excited to begin our sessions together. She actually happens to attend my gym and live right in my area so I can have our meetings face-to-face which is really nice.

Current mood: Trying my best to keep happy afloat. I know I know I need to stop complaining about feeling sick, but it really does affect my mood. I have a lot of things to be happy about and to enjoy so I’m trying to keep those in the forefront while my stomach and I are at war.

Well that’s the update on moi, so tell me something about your life!

Much love!

Currently…Whoa It’s June!

Tons of photos courtesy of Rita and my trip to the Arboretum last Monday. So beautiful and warm.

Happy Memorial Day to my American Friends! Hope you are soaking up some sun wherever you are of just catching up on some R&R!

This weekend was a pretty great one for me! To start, Emily surprised us and dropped back into the house a day early on Wednesday evening. Rita and I were so happy to see her and we got to spend a few hours during the day here and there as she went back and forth between us and her BF’s house. Oh the single lady status for Rita and I…le sigh

Saturday included some of this at the Kitty Cafe

8 weeks old…

….Balls of fluffy love. OMG. So sweet. I was kind of disappointed that we couldn’t hold them, but as you can see, they were pooped and I can see that them being tossed around to every child that came through would be too stressful.

Back into the heat (ain’t complaining…), Rita decided to jump in the splash pad but the lil kids were too crazy and splashing everywhere that it lasted a whole 2 seconds…

Don’t take her outfit as a serious indicator of the weather. It was 32 before the humidex..

Then we almost died when a car ran over a bottle and it literally was so loud that it sounded like an explosion.

The whole park went silent following a huge gasp from the crowd. Thinking about it afterwards, its amazing to see the natural reactions of the human species. Instant panic means everyone freezes and all looks to the direction of the sound as they try to process the ‘threat.’ Now, if it actually was a threat it would have then turned into chaos with people running, screaming, trampling others and grabbing their kids but thankfully, it was only the smashing of a bottle.

Psychology in action.

Finally, yesterday, Jimmy (friend from McMaster) drove down from TO to catch up and it had been so long since I had even seen him that it was nice to be able to see what his adulting (aka he has a legit job!) self has been up to.

So I haven’t done an update in a while and since we are here at the end of May (crazy to think that school ended a whole month ago!) I figured I would do one of the currently style posts that float around the bloggy land.

Current Confession:

I’m currently writing this rather then doing my work just because I have a cup of tea in front of me. Tea + blogging first, then work…makes no sense I know.

Current Book:

What’s a book?

For real, I’m bad and don’t really read. I read journals and such for my work and school and blogs for my entertainment. As for actual literature, I can’t sit still long enough to read a physical book.

Current Music:

Screen Shot 2016-05-19 at 10.13.56 AM

Yup, still stuck on this song. It’s too good. I have also come to love this cover of Drakes One Dance. I do like the original version, but I really like this version. Check it!

Current Guilty Pleasure:

Does soaking up the sun count? For real, sun in large doses isn’t good but I’m sorry I have waited so long for this weather that I can’t help but literally try to bathe myself in it all day…

Current Entertainment:

OMG Mistresses is on tonight!

Current Wish/Need:

Tickets to the the GNC Toronto Pro SuperShow!! I just found out this week that it’s this Saturday!! I love going and hope I can round of some peeps and make the trek to TO to attend…. and kick some aaaaasssss at the plank off for Sick Kids hospital. Will I take it again this year? Hmmm…

I know a lot of the fitness YouTuber’s I watch are going to be wandering around and I’m hoping to make a spotting or two.

Current Food:

I have currently slid back into my obsession with pistachios. My oatsies are being garnished with all of the roasted green treasures.

Current Drink:

Nothing new here. I’m not much of a crazy drinker. I still have my normal afternoon Tim’s Peppermint Tea despite sweating my face off to drink it.

Current Triumph:

Being told I was exceptional by my supervisor.

This job I’m working now is just the best thing. I’m producing work that she says ‘goes beyond what she expected from a typical undergrad’ while still fully immersing myself in this summer as well. I get the privilege of doing my work whenever I want and it’s more then amazing.

I’m so happy that I can please her and excited to work towards our ultimate goal of the summer, which is publication of my systematic review. I would be a published author peeps!

Current Bane of Existence:

Needles. I had to get my blood drawn today…Coincidentally, so did Rita, so we braved it out together….and then we went to the mall.

Oh, and also, a certain person who will remain unnamed…

Just so you know, I’m a very very hard person to make upset. I don’t dislike people but when I say no, I mean no. End of story. Asking 4 thousand times and getting more and more inappropriate to the point of me feeling slightly icky is just pushing my button a lil bit too far.

Said person doesn’t read my blogs or interact with social media so I have no issue venting here.

Current Blogger Crush:

Dietician Deanna. I seriously love her. Her Instagram and her blog. She is just so real and open about everything.

Screen Shot 2016-05-30 at 10.08.45 AM

Current Indulgence:

Shopping. Guys, since I got my first paycheque I have been giving myself some loving in the materialistic way…

Current Blessing:

My friends. I’m really enjoying having the time to spend with my friends and explore new places this summer while not having to feel guilty that I’m not working. I have the best of both worlds this summer and I’m going to embrace it. I’m very thankful to have the opportunity that I do.

Current Outfit:

Anything summery! I have been whipping out all the things short, flowy and flirty because when summer weather comes, I actually may have a slightly better sense of dressing myself.

Current Excitement:

Did I mention the Pro SuperShow 😛

Current Link:

It ain’t always all lulu’s and donuts….

Current Mood:

😀 ….and sore..cuz leg day.

Something you’re currently thankful for?
What’s your summer ‘uniform’?

What’s the One…

Happy Saturday My Friends!

What are you all up to today?

I’m hitting the gym bright and early so that Rita and I can catch the 12:30 bus downtown TO to the Eaton Centre for some summa shoppin. This girl right here is in serious need for sandals!

Make that pedi too…

So I found this post on Wholesome Paradise and thought it was a fun lil survey to do. She stated that she found it here, but I have linked Stephanie’s post (click on the picture) so that you can check out here answers and her fun blog spot. 🙂

Thanks Stephanie for the blog-spiration.

What’s the One…

Healthy food you never want to run out of?

Freshly ground, crunchy peanut buttah. Yeah I’m spoiled and get the BESTEST tasting peanut butter of my life at a lil local health food store (back near my parents house) that grounds their own stuff almost daily. Believe me when I say that fresh ground makes all the difference as anyone who I have graciously given a taste has wanted their own tub…

My housemates beg me to pick them up a tub every time I go home so yeah I’m the freak who walks out of the store carrying 4-5 tubs of peanut butter..

“Non” healthy food you never want to run out of?

Ice Cream. I have recently pulled back on this as I’m really struggling with the post-lactose consumption icks, but I will still never give up housemade gelato/ice cream Cough…Jay’s good stuff.

Kitchen appliance you would hate to lose?

My toaster oven as I bake absolutely everything in there every day so that I don’t need to use the huge oven for my food (plus it’s faster!) OR the microwave because I need my food boiling hot or I won’t enjoy it the same way.

yes yes microwave haters, I’m gunna die from microwave radiation…

Self-care item you stock at all times?

Following Stephanie’s lead here with supplements. I feel like a drug addict half the time with how many I take right now. But hey, they aren’t actually medications so I can’t be mad and they are ensuring that all my t’s are crossed and i’s are dotted.

Sorry I just felt like throwing that random saying in there for no apparent reason..

Self-care service you never miss?

The gym. Obviously.

Piece of equipment at the gym you would miss?

Squat rack. All your main lifts are done in that thing plus you can do some hanging core work on it. It’s a necessity!

Fitness class you hope never goes out of style?

Hot yoga. I haven’t done it in a while, and I miss it. Hopefully I can fit in a class or two soon. After bikram though, I just have a hard time pushing myself to go to just a regular ol’ hot yoga class. It’s just not challenging enough and doesn’t give me that same sense of release.

Piece of workout clothing you must have?

My Lulu ‘what the sport’ shorts. They are the only bottoms I wear. They are perfect length (not booty-showing shorts when you bend over) and they have pockets on the hips which not only looks better for those lacking in that area but they are the perfect spot for your i-pod when you do lots of core work and then find those front pockets inconvenient.

Fitness gadget you cannot live without?

My iPhone and/or i-pod. We are a celly-phone world after all (but I’m not addicted and I can leave it and be okay lol) and yes, I could just use my phone for my music in the gym BUT 1. I don’t want it to get sweaty and/or broken and 2. I hate when people bring their phones into the gym. Disconnect for an hour of your life peeps. Other parts of life can wait while you do your thang.

Plus you hog the benches/machines when you’re sitting there texting -_-

Fitness or health app you would hate to see go away?

MyFitnessPal. I don’t tell others to track because you shouldn’t have to. For me, a person in recovery, I under eat if I don’t track. I need it set in stone to ensure I get enough calories and follow my meal plan accordingly while having variety. Do I want to use it forever? No. Right now though, it’s required for my health as I know myself too well.

Thing or item you must do/have to go to sleep?

Night snack + Brush my teeth.

Body part you love the most?

My eyes. They are big, dark and honest. I have always been told that they show my inner sparkle.

Personality trait you love most about yourself?

My empathy. It can be a pitfall sometimes as you sometimes feel too much and stress yourself out, but I love that I can relate to many people because I can feel for them and what their situation is.

Now pick one thing (or more if you’re feeling crazy!) and post your answer in the comments below.

Have a great Saturday friends!

Two posts in one day, BAM.

So I know that this survey is technically a day late as it’s supposed to be on Christmas Day….but I’m a rule breaker + it was fun and I wanted to be able to share it anyways.

Thanks to Heather at Life in Leggings for this one! To see her responses click here.

I wanna hear some of your responses too in the comments so share away! 🙂

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?

Can I say neither? I’m really not a beverage person per say. I really only drink tea and water to be completely honest. If I was to pick a holiday drink that isn’t either of the aforementioned liquids, I would probably pick farm fresh apple cider.

My new tea mug! Cute eh?

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?

Unwrapped presents?!? NEVER. Presents have to be wrapped to be considered presents in my book.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?

Coloured. I’m a fan of all things colour. Yes white may look more elegant, blah blah, but colour is so much more fun and when your tree included ornaments that are glass, the colour lights bounce off them so much nicer.

4. Do you hang mistletoe?

Yes! I actually was going to say no until I saw it yesterday hanging from the basement entrance. You will get hit with it every night in our house and so it’s good that it’s only required to follow through with if you’re with someone or the wall would be getting quite the lovin from us going under it single file 99% of the time…

5. When do you hang your decorations up?

My Mom does most of the decorating at our house. She leaves the main Christmas tree until I’m done exams so that we can do that together but she outdoes herself every year. We have no less then 6 Christmas trees of various sizes throughout our house and no room goes untouched with a lil Christmas spirit.

Main tree which is where we open presents on Christmas morning.

The Candy Cane tree that is in our dinning room

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?

I absolutely love one of my own dishes actually. My spicy, roasted garlic and rosemary sweet potato mashed potatoes. When I actually make it ( I didn’t make it this year, too much food), I savour every bite and have a lil blob on every piece of turkey HA.

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child?

I remember when I was younger, my Nana and Papa would always come over for Christmas Eve before they then showed up the next day for the big day. We used to just spend a few hours with them and open a few presents and it was something I always looked forward to. They don’t come anymore due to it being too hard as they age, but I always remember those kinds of traditions

Another cherished memory is making apple pies for the big dinner with my Mom and Auntie Melanie. We used to blast our Christmas music and literally laugh until we snorted…well until my Aunt snorted. 😀

8. What is on your Christmas wish list?

I don’t really have a wish list but my parents always out do themselves and seem to read my mind when it comes to things I could use and enjoy. LuluLemon gift certificates are always good. 😉

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?

Nope. In fact, the majority of the gifts aren’t even under the tree until Christmas morning.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree?

Lots of lights and quite the variety of different ornaments. There are ones that have meaning (we have two teddy bears that are seated together to represent my parents, my unicorn as it was my favourite animal throughout my entire childhood), we have big sparkly snowflakes because sparkles duh and there are ones that we have collected over the years such as those my Grandma gives me every year.

There are of course the rest which are simply fillers that are plain ones, other angels, non-glass snowflakes and icicles (they pick up light beautifully) and sparkly branches that you weave into the trees branches.

11. Snow? Love it or dread it?

Sorry, DREAD. I loaaaaaathheee the cold (grinch voice). Snow means it’s way too cold for my liking. Send me a picture of the snow and I would be completely happy living in the heat for the entire year. Why am I Canadian?

12. Real tree or fake?

Fake. For one, I have asthma that hates all forms of living plants being in the house if they have a strong smell. At least, this was true as a child, I’m a lot better now. Second, and probably very much related to the first reason, I hate the smell of plants. Is that weird? I think it’s one of those aversion things. If something is going to hurt you, I sometime feel your body tries to make you avoid it. So, floral scents made my asthma flare up so as a result, I then dislike the smell.

So yeah, I’m a girl you won’t see smellin the roses…

13. Do you remember your favorite gift?

Hmmm, I can’t really remember, but obviously my Macbook has been up there in the top favourites for sure. It doesn’t have to be something so expensive to make me super happy though. This year my parents got me a heated blanket for keeping me toasty during the dreaded winter and obviously it was instant love.

14. What’s the most important thing about Christmas for you?

Being with family. No question no hesitation. Everything could be held the same and it would never feel the same without my family. They make the holiday a holiday.

15. What is your favorite holiday dessert?

I’m not really a dessert person and actually never eat dessert on holidays. Call that my ED or not, I just don’t. If I were to have one, it would be ice cream for sure. It would not however be a holiday flavour because I ain’t into peppermint and chocolate ice creams and don’t even think of coming near me with eggnog…gag.

Gimme all of this…

…Which is actually what was served at our house yesterday.

As a kid it was our homemade apple pie. I absolutely adored it and adored all of the leftovers as well. I have yet to have pie since my ED but my stomach also has decided now that it hates apples for some reason -_-. Yet another FODMAP food that it doesn’t like. Ugh.

16. What is your favorite tradition?

Baking with my Mom. Although the amount we can actually do together has shrunk over the years due to me being away at school, we still alway make at least one thing together.

17. What tops your tree?

A lop-sided angel. Hey she stayed up there and didn’t take a nose dive. Ain’t nothing wrong with crooked. We’re short over here mmmkay 😛

18. Which do you prefer, giving or receiving?

I really enjoy seeing others open my gifts. I try my best, despite not being very creative, to find special gifts or ones with meaning and so I’m always right there just waiting to see their face when they open it.

19. What is your favorite Christmas song?

I love Christmas music and you all have heard a million times that this CD is the best thing of life…

Favourite song on the disk would probably be “Spread a little love.”

20. Candy canes, yuck or yum?

I don’t eat them anymore, but I love peppermint. I used to love the fruity candy canes as a kid too. Those red and pink ones (I think they were cherry?) were awesome!

21. Favorite Christmas movie?

Hmmm I feel like I haven’t seen all of them so that’s hard but I do love The Grinch (Jim Carrey version!) and Elf.

My parents and I tend to always watch a few Christmas movies the nights leading up to Christmas. One of them is ALWAYS The National Lampoons Christmas Vacation because that’s my Dad’s favourite, and this year we watched Elf on Christmas Eve.

22. What do you leave for Santa?

Nothing now but as a kid he got some of our baking and carrots for the reindeer of course! Got feed the workers of the sleigh and plus the vitamin A for the optimal night vision 😀

23. Do you have a Christmas morning tradition?

We always open presents first thing after I wake them up as I tend to wake up the earliest. Stockings first, then presents and then after that they make their traditional breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast, etc. Our puppy always gets her breakfast of eggs as well (but that’s not really tradition because she tends to get eggs whenever they are made)

24. Do you prefer to shop online or in stores?

Stores because I like to be able to try things on. However, if it’s something I know will fit then online works awesome. I have ordered Lulu’s online before and had luck 50% of the time. That may sound sucky but that generally means that I end up having to go into a store to return it and come out of the store with 3 pieces for the one I returned….

25. Christmas letter or Christmas card?

I love writing and receiving letters much better then cards. They are speaking from the heart rather then fitting your thoughts and emotions into a pre-made card.

I hope you enjoyed this lil survey and remember to share some of your favourites too!

Have a great rest of your weekend friends. 🙂

You Asked For It…

Happy Christmas Eve Friends!

Today was a very very busy day so today’s Top 25 will be the one I said I wasn’t going to do as I thought it was too cliche. However, I was specifically requested for one so I guess I just think too much sometimes and assume you don’t want to hear more about just me. HA.

Anyways todays catchup.

I made a homemade bison meatball stew for my parents in the crockpot before I left for the gym this morning. OMG the gym was an absolute zoo. There is one place you don’t want to be when it’s not open on Christmas Day and it closes Christmas Eve at 4pm.

My parents loved the stew by the way. Checkpoint for me and making their hectic lives easier with a pre-made dinner. 😀

An obvious place numba 2 you don’t want to be on Christmas Eve is the grocery store. I managed to come out alive, but the car almost got a cart rammed into it. Oh how happy my Dad would have been. I had to park in Tim-Buck-Two but that didn’t stop 4 carts from magically surrounding my car. It’s called return your carts peoples. -_-

My Mom and I got our nails done:

Our traditional Christmas nails! So much sparkles I love it. She has the snowflakes because she has nails as hard as diamonds so she can grow hers out…Apparently the hard nail gene skipped me…

We baked the 30lb turkey, prepped the 2 hams, made the sausage stuffing that everyone raved over last year and wrapped all the remaining presents.

Phew. Donzzzooo. Tonights agenda includes watching Elf, so that will let us all unwind before the big day tomorrow.

What are your plans for Christmas Eve? Traditions?

Alrighty, so as I alluded to, the Top 25 today is all about moi and this will conclude this Top 25 Things series as I will have to say that after everyone leaves tomorrow I will probably be too drained to make a proper sentence let alone list 25 things.

Which I learned was surprisingly hard sometimes. 25 is actually a lot. HA

So without further ado..

Top 25 Facts About LilMissFitnessFreak

  1. I have a fairly noticeable freckle on the tip of my wee nosey-nose that everyone always comments on. I’m not one to be ashamed of my freckles. I happen to love them.
  2. Speaking of loving myself, one feature that I absolutely love about myself is my HUGE eyes. Some say they are doe eyes. Others say I have the eyes of a doll. I have even got that I look like an anime character because my eyes are so big yet all of my features on my face are so small. I love them though because 1. It makes me feel more feminine and sweet and 2. because people tell me that my eyes sparkle and bring me to life. So therefore, the bigger the better. Plus who can really get mad at those big brown eyes… 😉 59061411.jpg
  3. I have never ever broken a bone (knock on wood) but I have bruised my tailbone when I went skiing for the first time as a school trip. Don’t do it friends, its sucks to not be able to sit down.
  4. I was apparently the best and worst baby and child of the world. I was very calm as a baby and very mature, respectful and sweet as a child but where I got ‘annoying’ was the fact that I was a walking medical problem. To this day, we get asked if we realize how big my medical file is…
  5. I will never voluntarily go to a place that is cold and/or raining all the time. It’s depressing.
  6. Peanut butter is really the only thing I’m crazy in love with now that I was deprived of as a child. Of all my allergies that I developed OUT OF, it is the one that latched onto my tastebuds and will probably never let go.
  7. I have gotten food poisoning from sushi one too many times and now even the smell nori or sitting in a sushi restaurant makes me nausaus
  8. I wanted to be a Vet all of my life until those 40 hours of community service showed me that it really wasn’t something I could be capable of doing.veterinarian-job-description.jpg
  9. I’m really attracted to a v-taper on a guy. Nice broad shoulders and a wide back. On a slightly different note, I also have a soft spot for a guy wearing a white, fitted long sleeve v-neck shirt. I have no idea why, I just love it.
  10. I was a really good artist as a kid. However, I was a copier not a creator. I’m great at creating pieces when I have a reference but to come up with an original piece was something I could never do well.
  11. Beanie Babies were my jam as a kid. I had a cabinet full of over 300 of them. My OCD also totally kicked in with these as I could literally take out every single one of them to play with and put them all back in the exact same spot when I was done.
  12. My Mom said that I had a horseshoe shoved up my ass (She didn’t say it exactly that way…lol) as a kid because I always managed to avoid stepping on things I didn’t see. One night I came into my parents bathroom to pee (I don’t turn lights on) and my dog had been sick literally ALL OVER the floor. Somehow I managed to sleep walk my way to the toilet and not step on any of it.3fcf7e65ccb6faad33ff5af71c30d5084564b93ffcf9bc0080ee76ce85378983.jpg
  13. “What’s the first thing you’d do if you were the opposite sex for one day?” Is it weird to say that I would go lift just to see how much stronger a male is compared to a female?
  14. If you believe that you can die in your sleep, I had quite a close encounter when I dreamt that I jumped off a waterfall after being chased by a bear. The moment before I made kissy-face with the ground, my legs slammed so hard against my bed that I sat straight up, awake and in a panic. Them reflexes I tell you.
  15. To this day, doctors still question why I’m so small. With my parents being 5’10 and 5’4, I have the doctors puzzled at my tiny 5’0 self. My gesture doctor has repeated several times how small my bones are and asked me if I was a premie. For the record I was actually normal sized when I was born…
  16. Speaking of my birth, due to my Mom’s back issues, she wasn’t allowed to push during labour and with the help of a very aggressive (and an a**hole of a doctor with no social skills), I was yanked out and ended up with a football shaped head for a the first day or so of my life. Thanks Doc for almost crushing my skull.
  17. I rarely cry when I get hurt (even as a very young child) I more so cry when I get over stressed and finally crack.
  18. “What superpower would you have for one day?” I want to be able to heal others OR be able to teleport myself. My hyperactive self would be all over the place!
  19. I always liked to be different when it came to my favourite things. Favourite Disney Princess? Jasmine. Favourite Winnie the Pooh character? Kanga. I never really had the same favourite as the majority. 239623-winnie-the-pooh-winnie-the-pooh-wallpaper-3
  20. I don’t like roller coasters, they give me really bad vertigo, but I love waterparks!
  21.  I’m a total posture snob. I actually cringe when I see slouching.
  22. “If you knew you would die in one week, what would you do?” Go to California for a week and make sure I swam with the dolphins. I have wanted to do that all my life.
  23. If you were to ask me what a deal breaker would be for a potential love, I would say if they smoked. Sorry, I just can’t do it.
  24. Speaking of smoking, I have the sense of smell of a dog no joke. My sense of smell is so strong and as a result, so is my sense of taste (as they are connected). Nothing escapes my nose. I would make a good taste tester.
  25. I’m a lefty.

And that’s a wrap. I hope you found one of those things interesting. Want to know more?

Containing My Rambling…Ie. Fun Survey

My Friends,

I decided to let my rambles be controlled today by doing a fun lil survey I found when looking over the last Thinking Out Loud posts in Amanda’s linkup. Thanks to Miss Polkadot for the inspiration for this post.

Click on her name if you want to check out her answers!

I’m happiest when…I’m relaxing with friends and family. Just enjoying their company and not having to worry about being studious or deadlines. Stress-free. A close second… zee gym times 😀

I’ve always wanted to…Go to California! Like for real guys, if only I had monnies I would be glowing in that California Sun

Calllliiifffoornniaaa Looooooovveee

My family and I are… Insanely close. I consider my parents to be two of my best friends. I truly appreciate the time we get to spend together and I get excited to go him to see them. They are my rocks and provide me with unconditional support and love. I never take for granted the relationship we have and I will cherish it and relish in it for the rest of my life.

I was a terrible…at english. Does that sound weird? Yes, english was my toughest and most annoying subject in school and I had to work damn hard just to get my 80% in that class. I don’t suppose that’s why I found myself repin’ the sciences…

“You need to go deeper in your thoughts”

“Explain it more without adding fluff…”

“I dunno, I just didn’t think you took it as far as you could go..”

I still couldn’t tell you what any of those mean. Thanks for the lessons on essay writing teach! -_-

My first job was…like many other youngins, babysitting. I used to ‘sit for practically all the kids on our street and surprisingly when it was the lil boys thy actually listened to me despite pretty much being bigger then me.. One lil girl I used to watch I also did reading coaching with on separate nights and it was so exciting to see her grow and get better and better!

I could probably eat ____ everyday. Must I choose? There a a few things in my life that I do in fact happily look forward to eating every damn day. Oatmeal for one, fish for two (yes I’m a weirdo that craves fish hard core if I don’t have it for one day) and probably peanut butter… Must be crunchy though!

I was born on the same day as…Tom Cruise (oh geez the crazy scientologist…), Thomas Gibson (Criminal Minds), R.B. Bennett (11th Canadian Prime Minister)

My all-time favorite movie is… couldn’t tell ya. To be honest I’m not a movie freak. Confession: I’m the one who will fall asleep even in a movie theatre because watching a movie requires me to be still and sit down for more then 30 minutes…

I do a pretty mean… Gameface. I say this but I couldn’t really know this…Apparently when I’m in the zone, no one wants to break that concentration HA! I used to get told all the time that people at my gym would see me but never approach me because I had that face going. I don’t bite I promise 😉

I’m still mad… That my amazing ice cream place in Milton has shut down for the season and I missed my opportunity to try their recess pieces gelato. Damn ED making me too afraid to indulge in both the skor and reese’s flavour at once the final time I was there…I will get over it…maybe..

I met my best friend… My first best friend? Daycare I think…? Corey was his name and apparently (I was young so I don’t really remember) we were the cutest lil two-some. These days I tend to have a few very close friends including my housies generally and a few school peeps. They keep me happy. I’m a social person I swear, but never feel the need to have humpteen million friends. I have my circle who I can trust and confide in and I’m always open to chattering with anyone who comes my way. 🙂

I always knew I wanted… to always have a dog in my life. I have had one my whole life, from birth up until I left for University and was forced to part ways with Lacey, and now, Maggie due to not living at home with my parents. I find myself yearning for the fluffy companionship out of the blue. I can truly say that if I had the money to care for a dog I would have my own. They give me such comfort.

My future furbaby just you wait.

My future furbaby just you wait.

I’m not afraid tobe honest and open about myself. My confidence has never been as high as it is now. I was a really insecure and shy kid and teen. Up until first year university I lacked any confidence what so ever and it’s crazy how much a lil bit of independence and your more adult experiences (ie. my relationship) can really catapult you into understanding who you really are and being okay with YOU. People ask me how I can write about my life on a blog to people I don’t even know, but truly, I’m not afraid to show myself to others. Why should I be? This is my life and I’m proud of where I have come from and where I am going. What should I afraid of there?

I make the best…

Oatmeal concoctions for others (and myself obviously, but I’m a pb-banana girl forever!). The above one was salted caramel apple zoats for Em and she loved them. I tend to make food for people… a lot. If you live with me you are given food like 24-7 because I just like cooking and baking. When I’m bored, stressed or just want my hands to busy, I grab a bowl and a spoon and get going.

I have almost no… sense of direction. What is north?

I always cry when I don’t tend to cry often but when I do it’s because I’m stressed out.

I’m now …a Nutrition and Dietetics Student at Guelph University. I’m also a gym fanatic with a great family and close circle of friends. I’m a 24 year old female who is just looking to embrace herself and find and live out her passions one day at a time.

I wish my folkscould truly know how much I love them for what they have done for me. They have dealt with a lot with me. My health has never been great and my ED really put them through a storm like no other. I will never forgive myself for what I put them through but I hope they can always know that I have never taken that love and unconditional support for granted. I never will. They deserve the best and nothing less.

I believe if everyone … didn’t have to think about money, the world would be a better place. All of our problems in the world generally have a money component. People turn nasty because they are scared about their livelihood. Countries go to war because they want something…generally resources to make more money.

On a similar note, if we didn’t fear so much, our world would be a much safer and more accepting place. We fear everything and everyone these days and that also drives the awful violence that we see (and don’t see…) every day.

I can’t standimmaturity. Maybe it’s because I have always been a bit more mature for my age, but I really cannot handle the lack of care, common-sense or respect for others that I think an adult should have. Being a student I’m surrounded by a amalgamation of people who are learning to come into adulthood but I’m also graced with those who care only for themselves and don’t feel the need to be a proper citizen and/or adult.

is on I’ll start smiling and singing. That commercial gets me every time.

Happiness-inducing today: My GoodnessMe! Saturday morning routine with my housies (Unfortunately missin Em, as she’s in Toronto) .

And that’s a wrap!

Hope you enjoyed my contained rambles and you had a great Saturday.

Whatcha doing for Sunday Sunday tomorrow?

Anyone doing Cyber Monday shopping?

Post your answer to one of the questions above in the comments if ya feel like sharing. I always love learning about my readers.

You Made Me Realize…

…That I did have a full year.

What great goals! And what a packed year you’ve had! -Rachel

You have had such a big year Chelsea with moving away and all your paid work and this lil blog. I hope you are proud of yourself!– Tammy

You really have accomplished a lot and I look up to you. You had a very productive yr, it’s amazing! – Traci

Congrats on all you’ve accomplished this year!! I’m continually amazed at how much you manage to fit into your life -Tina

Thank you so much for all of your love and constant support. You all mean the world to me honestly!

Things have changed. I have changed. I have grown.

It was a great year and I really send many thanks to all of you for reminding me that I too need to take the time to reflect on the year that has left us and realize how much I did.

Personal Life

  • I moved to a new city. I moved away from my jobs. My home. My friends. To do what? Start again with that whole school life. Was it scary? HELL YES. I don’t like change. It scares be to death. BUT I had to come to the same terms that I did when I moved from high school to university, that I was doing this to strive for my passion. I miss my Hamilton life still but I’m making great memories here in Guelph too and moving towards what I want in life.

  • My boyfriend and I went our separate ways after 5 years. I never disclosed this when it happened because that is a very personal aspect of my life, but I felt like it would come out eventually. I consider him to be one of my best friends and have come to accept that I grew a lot mentally from when I was 18 and that has caused me to realize that we mesh better as friends. He is an amazing person and I hope to always have him in my life. There will always be a special kind of love there.
  • I remembered what it was like to have friends. Sometimes when you are in a relationship and busy with other aspects of life, you forget you have friends. One thing I have really embraced since school started was that I have a lot of truly special people in my life and I have enjoyed catching up with them more then ever.

  • I balanced more of a social life with school. This was something I always struggled with because I would isolate myself with my school work because I felt that I should always be studying or doing something related to school. I have learned that balancing socializing in with school is key to reducing my stress and it should be maintained as a priority.

Blogging Life

  • I started vlogging! I have really enjoyed this newer component to the blog as I find it to add another level of realness to it. I hope you guys are enjoying them despite them being done simply on my Mac with no fancy-shmancy equipment.

  • I have seen my lil group grow! I love the fact that I can recognize all of you when you make your comments. It’s like creating another supportive family! Much better than having a bazillion subscribers but no talking that’s for sure!

School Life

  • New school. New degree. New focus. I’m so excited to really get more into the real nitty gritty nutrition aspect as that is my love.
  • I survived my first semester and managed to pull out an 86 GPA. That surprisingly included the completion of biochemistry. A high GPA is something I always strive for and while I am used to a bit higher, I accepted the fact that this was a transition period and I need to not be such a perfectionist 24/7. I did my best while not making myself a hermit. School is not life.

I bet you are all just ROTFL’in at all that chemistry humor eh? ….

Gym Life

  • New gym. This was quite an adjustment because I had to leave my gym family. I still miss them and my pink towel will always remain there in spirit, but I’m starting to make a name for myself here too. I suppose it doesn’t take long for people to start to notice the tiny lil girl who lifts all zee weights. 😉
  • I added more new things to my workouts and things have continue to intensify. I am more aware now of what I want to work on and am actively working towards bringing up those weaker areas, like my hamstrings. Thank you to all of the amazing YouTube accounts for showing me new fun things to try.
  • My muscle definition is getting more noticeable! People have been telling me that I am starting to grow and from a girl who has the toughest time keeping weight on, that is the best thing I can hear.

I have so many things I want to do this year. I have the drive for them so I hope I can make them happen. Again, much love for always bringing me back to realizing the important things in my life, where I have come and pushing me forward.

Love you all.
